Don’t Miss This: 13-year-old locked up after stealing four cars

▪ A Hillsboro 13-year-old boy is in juvenile detention after allegedly stealing four cars over two days.

The boy, who was not identified, faces several felonies for the crime spree, according to the city’s police chief, Gary, Satterlee.

Two of the vehicles, which all had the keys inside of them when they were taken, were damaged by the teen. One is likely totaled after it was used to smash down a fence around the high school football field.

▪ Police are trying to sort out what caused a serious crash during the Tuesday morning rush hour in Sauget.

The Driver of a Honda sedan ran into the back of a semi stopped at a traffic signal at Illinois 3 and Queeny Avenue and was rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.

Traffic was snarled for about 45 minutes while the driver was rescued and the scene was cleaned up.

Drivers were diverted from the route which is a major traffic artery for commuters traveling to their jobs in St. Louis.

▪ A 33-year-old East St. Louis man was killed when he was hit by a car in Belleville Friday.

Keith Gray died at about 5:30 a.m. Friday in a St. Louis hospital. He was crossing Illinois 161 near Frank Scott Parkway at about 1 a.m. when he was struck by a car.
