19-year-old charged with murder in East St. Louis fatal shooting

St. Clair County prosecutors on Wednesday filed first-degree murder charges against a 19-year-old in connection with a fatal shooting.

Alan Davis, of East St. Louis, was charged with fatally shooting John Middlebrooks III on April 17.

Middlebrooks, 41, was shot in the 3900 block of State Street.

Bail for Davis was set at $500,000. He was in custody Wednesday at the St. Clair County Jail.
