Don’t Miss This: Sheriff’s office seeks to ID man in home video

▪ The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said it’s seeking a “person of interest” who was seen on video outside a home that may have been burglarized.

Deputies were called to the 800 block of South 29th Street in unincorporated Belleville on July 30, according to Investigator Scott Toth.

The homeowner told authorities that “several tools” were missing from his garage, which was unlocked.

▪ Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was awarded $46,000 in grant money through the Teaching with Primary Sources Program, a federal grant program administered by the Library of Congress to develop teaching resources and professional development opportunities that focus on the effective use of digitized primary sources in K-12 classrooms.

Three other Illinois education organizations also received grant money for a total of $615,164.

▪ Fairview Heights Police were looking for two men who carried out an armed robbery just after midnight on Sunday.

At 12:02 a.m. the Fairview Heights Police Department received a phone call from a Domino’s Pizza delivery man who said he was robbed at gun point. The delivery man was making a delivery to a house on the 100 block of Toulon Court when he was approached by two black males wearing ski masks, police said.

No one was injured during this incident.
