Ticket bought at Belleville retailer among 13 big winners in Nov. 8 Powerball draw
While an Illinois resident did not win the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot, 13 players in the state won between $50,000 and $100,000 in the Nov. 8 drawing.
One lucky player bought their ticket from Circle K at 755 S. Belt W. in Belleville. The player won $50,000, and the retailer will receive a bonus worth 1% of the prize.
Tickets worth $50,000 to $100,000 were also purchased online, in Chicago, Villa Park and other cities.
More than 400,000 winning Powerball tickets were sold in Illinois during the historic, multi-billion-dollar drawing, amounting to more than $2.8 million in Illinois prizes.
The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and Powerball 10. To win $50,000, the 11 Illinois players matched four out of five numbers and the Powerball.
Winning players have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages all lucky winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place.
Powerball tickets are $2 each, and you can add a Power Play for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.
An estimated $47 million will be up for grabs at the next Powerball drawing, which will take place at 9:59 p.m Saturday.
