Schnucks recalls ground beef sold at Belleville grocery store. Here’s what we know
Schnucks announced a recall Monday for ground beef produced and sold Sunday at its grocery store at 800 Carlyle Ave. in Belleville because it “may contain pieces of plastic.”
Here are the four products listed in the recall:
- 90/10 Ground lean beef
- 80/20 Ground chuck
- 80/20 Ground beef
- 73/27 Ground beef
If you bought any of these products between 12:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Sunday with a sell-by date of Monday, Sept. 16, you can return them to the store to get a full refund or exchange, the company said in a news release.
“To date, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries, and this is an isolated incident that does not affect any other stores,” the news release said.
Schnucks previously had issued a recall in July regarding lean ground beef sold at the Carlyle Avenue store because it may have contained plastic wrap but a company spokesman said the July case is not related to the incident reported on Monday.
