Highland Area Community Foundation’s annual grants banquet set for Oct. 11

The Highland Area Community Foundation’s 27th annual Grants Banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 11, with Busey Bank again sponsoring the event.

Grants totaling over $78,000 will be awarded to support community projects. In the past 27 years, over $1.3 million in grants and scholarships have gone back into the local service area.

President Ryan Goodwin stated the Foundation is pleased to have Busey Bank as Corporate Sponsor of the grants banquet again this year. Busey Bank has been a dedicated supporter of the Foundation for many years.

“As an organization with more than 150 years of dedicated service to our local communities — including more than 27 years here in Highland — we understand and respect organizations like the Highland Area Community Foundation and value its mission to meet the needs of the Highland area for the betterment of the community,” said Carol Porter, assistant vice president and service manager of Busey’s Highland Service Center. “So, we’re proud to once again sponsor this wonderful event and honored to be associated with such a great organization.”

This year’s event will be at the KC Hall in Highland. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per person, $18 of which is tax deductible. Net proceeds from the event will be used to provide ongoing support for the Foundation.
