Young Authors Conference to include several Highland-area students
The Madison County Regional Office of Education will host the 32nd annual Young Authors’ Conference to honor the young authors of Madison County. This year’s conference will be held at Edwardsville High School on Saturday, April 29.
The purpose of this conference is to recognize student authors for their success in writing stories and poems during the 202-2023 school year. Approximately 400 students in kindergarten through eighth grade, representing both public and private schools throughout Madison County, are involved in this event.
This year we are pleased to welcome storyteller and author Sherry Norfolk, as our featured entertainment. Norfolk is an award-winning storyteller, who has performed at storytelling festivals worldwide. She also performs at school, libraries, museums and universities. In addition to performing, Norfolk is a Teaching Artist with The Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap. Norfolk is a recognized leader in integrating learning through storytelling.
