O’Fallon boys cross country team opens 2020 fall campaign in strong fashion
The O’Fallon Township High School boys cross country team gathered at a quiet Milburn Campus on Saturday for something no one was sure would happen this year — their first meet of the season.
The boys ran in a triangular meet against Alton and Collinsville, where the varsity team took first place.
Senior Nick Edwards posted a time of 16:23, and freshman Dylan Ybarra was close behind with a time of 16:27. Junior Peyton Mueller was third for the Panthers followed by sophomore Ethan Nieroda, freshman Eli Greenstreet, and senior Alex Tillock while seniors Nick Novy and Nico Parker tied for seventh. Freshman AJ Doss finished first for the JV team with a time of 19:34.
Freshman Brody Schram crossed the finish line second, followed by freshman Brett Meek, sophomore Tanner Martinez, and freshmen Ayden Kandes, Andrew Roberts, and Ryan Stone.
The varsity team had 16 members who posted faster times than their time trials the previous weekend, and overall, the entire team looked very strong. They are looking forward to another great season.
