O’Fallon High School boys tennis team kicks off 2022 season

The O’Fallon High School boys tennis team started the 2022 season in strong fashion, placing third at the Triad Tournament on Saturday, March 19.

The Panthers went 2-1 on the day.

“The boys played well and had a good start to the season,” OTHS coach Erin Thoman said.

O’Fallon defeated Mt. Zion 4-1 and Olney 4-1 while losing to Dunlap 3-2.

Gavin Sohn played No. 1 singles and went 3-0.

“He had some great matches and battled,” Thoman said.

At No. 2 doubles, Cameron Woll and Rowen Brunner also went 3-0.

“They played really well,” the Panthers coach noted.

Meanwhile, Kaden Vollmer and Nic Strobel finished 2-1 at No. 1 doubles., while Ben VanAlstine played No. 2 singles and won his last match. Wyatt Heap and Jacob Vahle played No. 3 doubles and won their first match in a third set tiebreaker.
