Police searching for ‘armed and dangerous’ Alton shooting suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help in their search for a man they say shot someone in Alton last week.

Antonio R. Perkins, 40, is accused of shooting and injuring another man at a home in the 800 block of Ridge Street on Nov. 29, a news release from the Alton Police Department stated. The man was taken to the hospital and their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

On Tuesday, Perkins was charged in Madison County with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and one count of armed habitual criminal, the release stated. His bail was set at $250,000.

Police said Perkins should be considered armed and dangerous and that no one should contact him directly if spotted, the release stated.
