Police seek help identifying suspects they say robbed store near Collinsville

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public’s help in identifying two suspects police believe are responsible for a recent armed robbery near Collinsville.

Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at ZX Gas and Food Mart, located at 8407 Collinsville Road, Saturday, Dec. 15, at 5:17 p.m.

According to police, by the time deputies arrived the two suspects had fled on foot with several undisclosed items from the store. A search for the two suspects was unsuccessful. No one was injured during the robbery, police said.

Both suspects were armed with pistols and photographed by the store’s surveillance cameras.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a black male with a thin build and a beard wearing a hat, a gray Nike hoodie, gray pants and black and white shoes. The other suspect is described as wearing a black jacket with a large “E” on the left breast, a gray hood, white baseball cap with black rim, a white mask, green/teal backpack, gray pants and black and white shoes.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects call 618-692-4433 or 618-296-3000, if they wish to remain anonymous.
