Belleville man charged in Caseyville America’s Best Inn shooting

Caseyville Police say a Belleville man has been charged with a felony in connection to a shooting at a Caseyville America’s Best Inn earlier this month.

Earl Davis, 21, was charged with aggravated battery, a Class X felony, after he was identified as a suspect in the Caseyville shooting, police said.

Caseyville Police responded to the inn Tuesday, Dec. 17, in response to a report of a shooting victim. According to police, a victim was found shot at the hotel at around 11:15 a.m. and was later transported to an area hospital.

Davis was arrested Monday, Dec. 23 and his bond was set at $100,000. He is being held at the St. Clair County Jail.
