16-year-old charged in robbery at O’Fallon U.S. Bank branch

A 16-year-old has been charged in the robbery of a U.S. Bank branch in O’Fallon on Wednesday.

The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the male juvenile with three counts of aggravated robbery and three counts of financial institution robbery on Thursday, the O’Fallon Police Department stated in a release.

The teen is being held at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center. His name is not being released because of his age.

Police were called to the bank at 400 S. Lincoln Ave. on Wednesday just before 1:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery at the bank. Police were given a detailed description of the suspect and were able to arrest him without incident in the 400 block of East 4th Street shortly after.

No one was injured in the robbery.
