Teenager struck by gunfire at Alorton apartment complex

A juvenile was shot in his upper torso Tuesday afternoon in Alorton.

Police have not identified the individual who shot him.

The victim, who police say resides in Missouri, was taken by ambulance to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital where he remained as of Wednesday afternoon. A medical condition report was not immediately available.

Alorton Police Chief Dave Clark said police were summoned to the Greystone Apartments at approximately 1:30 p.m. to investigate shooting.

“A 16-year old was walking near Building 301-303 in the Greystone, shots rang out and he was struck,” Clark said. “We have not identified any suspects I this shooting.

“There were no witnesses available to talk to police. This is an ongoing investigation. We are hopeful if someone saw something, they will say something.”
