Centreville man playing video games at home struck by gunfire

A 20-year-old Centreville man was wounded by bullets fired from a fleeing car while he was playing a video game in his house.

Police did not identify the man, who was taken to an area hospital. Centreville Detective DeMarius Thomas said police are conducting an investigation.

Thomas said a call about the shooting, which was in the 200 block of North 74th Street, came into the police department at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

“A car came by and someone in the vehicle shot once inside the residence and kept going. The occupants called their mother w, who was not home,” Thomas said. “About 15 minutes later the car came back and someone shot six or seven ties inside the house, striking a 20-year old male.”

The man’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Thomas said.
