Collinsville police seek ‘person of interest’ in Waffle House shootout

Collinsville police on Monday released surveillance photos of a “person of interest” sought in connection with a shootout at a Waffle House parking lot on Saturday afternoon.

The man is described as 5-foot-10 to 6-foot tall, medium build and wearing a black DKNY shirt, according to police.

Police also are looking for a white 2018 Toyota Sequoia.

“It left the parking lot with several persons who were directly involved in the altercation,” according to a news release from the police department.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Detective Jose Cerna at 618-344-2131 Ext. 5268 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.

Police have said they believe one person may have been injured in the shooting but a victim had not been located.

Police also have said a preliminary investigation revealed several individuals who were riding in separate cars started shooting at one another at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at 505 N. Bluff Road.

Several cars were damaged in the shootout.
