Greenville teen faces charge in Breese shooting
An 18-year-old Greenville man was charged with aggravated battery on Thursday in connection with a shooting in Breese.
Kenny A. Balfour of the 800 block of East College Avenue in Greenville is accused of shooting a man in the abdomen with a .40-caliber handgun on Monday, according to Clinton County court records.
Breese Police Chief Bob Fix couldn’t be reached on Thursday for comment about the motive for the shooting.
One person was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital following the shooting at 407 N. 13th St., Breese police have said. The victim’s condition was not available.
Another person also was shot and this victim was treated at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese and released.
Balfour was being held in the Clinton County Jail on the felony charge on Thursday on a $100,000 bond. He was arrested by a Breese police officer shortly after the shooting was reported at 4:58 p.m. Monday.
