A man died from gunshot wounds at Touchette Regional Hospital on Monday, but little else is known about the circumstances that led him there.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as LaMarcus D. Clemons, 20, of 10572 Spring Garden in St. Louis. Clemons was pronounced dead in the hospital’s emergency room at 12:15 p.m., Dye said.

Cahokia Heights Police were dispatched to the hospital to investigate, said Detective DeMarius Thomas. Where Clemons was shot or how he got to the hospital, however, is not known.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cahokia Heights Police Department at 618-332-1184.
