Identities of Cahokia Heights shooting victims released

Authorities have released the names of the men found shot to death in Cahokia Heights on Saturday as the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis continues investigating the double homicide.
The men killed in the shooting were identified as Sean A. Johnson of Swansea and Dantez T. Ford of Cahokia Heights.
The shooting happened in the 4100 block of Brady Avenue in Cahokia Heights, according to authorities. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said both men were pronounced dead at the scene just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers from the Cahokia Heights Police Department started investigating around 11:30 a.m. when they were dispatched to a home on Brady Avenue for a welfare check on two people, according to a statement from Lt. Bud Jeremias, the deputy commander of the Major Case Squad.
Responding officers found one of the shooting victims inside the home and the other victim in a car parked in the driveway.
