St. Clair County coroner IDs two men killed in overnight shooting at bar
Two men were shot and killed and a woman was injured in a triple shooting early Wednesday at an East St. Louis bar, authorities said.
Alexander Matlock, 47, and Antonio Patton, 30, were identified as the deceased victims by St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. Matlock was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:55 a.m. and Patton at 2:56 a.m., Dye said.
Illinois State Police said the woman was struck by gunfire and then transported to an area hospital. Her medical condition was not released.
The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of North Ninth Street at the DaBlitz Sports Bar and Grill, according to an Illinois State Police news release.
The East St. Louis Police Department received a call at approximately 2:05 a.m. in reference to the shooting and the department requested assistance from the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 6, Public Safety Enforcement Group.
No arrests have been announced. Also, the hometowns of Matlock and Patton were not available.
“The investigation is active and no further information will be released at this time,” state police said in the news release.
