Major Case Squad IDs man found shot to death in metro-east alley
For the second time this month, the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated for a metro-east homicide investigation.
In the latest case, the squad was called Saturday after the body of a 37-year-old Madison man was found in the alley off the 1600 block of Fifth Street in Madison.
The victim was identified as Levell Douglas, who died from an apparent gunshot wound, according to a Major Case Squad news release.
No other details about the shooting have been released.
Sixteen investigators have been assigned to this case, which is being led by Sgt. Justin Biggs of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
Anyone with information about Douglas’ death is asked to call the Major Case Squad command post at 618-709-7750 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
In the first Major Case Squad activation in the metro-east in September, authorities have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a teenager near Cahokia Heights on Sept. 9.
Damonta T. Mosley, 18, was fatally shot and David F. Hodges, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder, according to the Major Case Squad.
