Illinois State Police investigate shooting death of Fairview Heights man
A 24-year-old Fairview Heights man was shot and killed in the 7500 block of Church Lane in East St. Louis Monday morning.
Alex Brown was identified as the victim, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Brown was pronounced deceased at the shooting scene at 7513 Church Lane at 7:32 a.m., Dye said
The last known address for Brown was in the 200 block of Oxford Avenue in Fairview Heights.
East St. Louis Police requested Illinois State Police to investigate the shooting death.
No arrests have been announced in connection with this shooting.
Illinois State Police said in a news release the call from East St. Louis to state police came in at 6:38 a.m. Monday.
“This is an open investigation and no further details are available for release at this time,” the news release said.
This homicide is the 13th in East St. Louis this year based on reports in the Belleville News-Democrat.
