A 75-year-old Fairview Heights man has been arrested on six criminal sexual assault and abuse charges, the Fairview Heights Police Department announced Wednesday.

Roger M. Tiemann of Baldus Drive was charged Saturday with four felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault/victim under 13 and two felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse/five years or more older than victim, according to St. Clair County court records and a police department news release.

Tiemann was being held in the St. Clair County Jail on Wednesday after a judge ordered him to be detained Tuesday.

Mark S. Peebles, who is listed on county online court records as the defense attorney for Tiemann, could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

On March 5, the police department “launched an investigation following a report of child sexual abuse,” the news release states.

Tiemman was arrested Friday, according to court records.

“The Fairview Heights Police Department is committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and ensuring that justice is served,” the news release states. “Based on the investigation’s findings, we have no reason to believe that there were any additional victims.”
