Man charged after reported home invasion, Granite City police say
A man Granite City police tried to stop in connection with a reported home invasion and kidnapping was arrested in Missouri following a police pursuit and later charged in Madison County.
Donte T. Pryor Sr. was charged by Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine’s office with three counts of aggravated kidnapping, home invasion, unlawful restraint, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer. All of the charges are felony offenses.
At approximately 6:39 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to to the 2100 block of Edison Avenue to investigate a report of a home invasion and kidnapping, according to a release from Granite City Police.
When officers arrived on scene, they saw Pryor driving a vehicle with an adult female and two juveniles inside. He refused to stop and fled in the vehicle, the release stated.
Police pursued him into St. Charles, Missouri where he crashed the vehicle and arrested.
Pryor and the adult female, who police did not identify, were taken to an a medical facility for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
