The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis’ team of investigators is asking the public for tips that will help them arrest the person who shot an 11-year-old Monday evening on Andrews Drive in Cahokia Heights.

It is unclear what led to the shooting or if the juvenile knew the person who shot him.

The victim remains in critical condition, according to a Major Case Squad press release.

The Deputy Commander of the Major Case Squad, Tim Lawrence, is asking anyone with information regarding the shooting of the juvenile to call the Major Case Squad’s command post at 618-332-4277 or CrimeStoppers at 866 371-TIPS (8477).

A command post is set up inside the Cahokia Heights Police Department.

Cahokia Heights Police Chief Thomas Trice requested assistance from the Major Case Squad shortly after the juvenile was shot.

He said police received a shots fired call at 3:25 p.m. Monday about the shooting, which occurred “in the vicinity” of the 1600 block of Andrews Drive.
