Collinsville Walmart employee stabbed during dispute, police say

The Walmart Supercenter in Collinsville was closed and the parking lot empty after police cleared the scene from a stabbing there Wednesday afternoon.

Officer responded to the incident at the store, 1040 Collinsville Crossing Blvd., at 3:56 p.m., according to a release from the Collinsville Police Department.

The release stated a dispute between two employees resulted in one stabbing the other. The victim was transported to an area hospital while the suspect was arrested a short distance from the store, police say.

By 5 p.m., the store was closed and security guards stood at the entrances.
