Two charged in Shiloh bank robbery attempt
A cross-jurisdictional investigation resulted in two Shiloh attempted bank robbery suspects being arrested and charged.
St. Clair County Circuit Court records show Jahvaris L. Reese, 39, and Ieasha L. White, 31, both from East. St. Louis, were charged Thursday with financial institution robbery, a Class 1 felony, and attempted robbery, a Class 3 felony.
The Shiloh Police Department detailed the alleged crime in a news release Thursday.
Shiloh Police Department responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery on Monday morning at Commerce Bank on Greenmount Crossing Drive. Two suspects gave a note to bank employees demanding money, but ended up leaving the bank without any money, the release alleges.
Reese and White wore clothing “which helped conceal their identification,” the release says.
O’Fallon Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department assisted Shiloh with the investigation. The latter brought the suspects into custody “without incident” on Tuesday, according to the release.
Prosecutors filed petitions to have Reese and White held at the count jail until their trials. Two court hearings will be held tomorrow at the St. Clair County Courthouse to decide if they’ll be released with conditions or remain in custody. White’s hearing will be at 10 a.m. and Reese’s at 1:30 p.m.
