Please list highlights of your civic involvement: Belleville is known for a volunteering spirit and pride. As the wife of a fireman, I am active within the community and I love volunteering at events such as the chili cook-off, Oktoberfest, and Art on the Square. I am a former Ambassador for the Great Belleville Chamber of Commerce and attend the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

Who are your top three campaign contributors? Running for a political office is new to me and therefore I have just begun fundraising. At this point, I am putting my own money into this endeavor but am working towards obtaining contributions from family and friends to help.

Why are you running? Having worked in the department four years, I have familiarized myself with the processes and procedures and have noted inefficiencies. By becoming more efficient and building relationships with customers, landlords, and property management companies, the Treasurer’s office can do more for the citizens of the community. It would be a great honor to serve the community as the first female Treasurer for the City of Belleville.

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? The top issue for my race is improving customer service and respect for the Belleville residents. It is not always necessarily what you say to people but how you say it and how you make them feel. Treating people with respect and handling business with dignity is important in building lasting relationships with not only the citizens, but landlords and property management companies as well. Providing open communication and an understanding environment with other departments can allow for more work to get accomplished.

Why should people vote for you? I ask for your vote because I want to make the City of Belleville better. My education, experience and outgoing personality will help foster respectful working relationships and provide the services of the office of Treasurer in a professional manner. If elected, I will work to improve ease of access for residents to their accounts, review the percentage rate being charged on credit card payments, and work proactively with landlords and property management companies to resolve delinquent tenant accounts.
