Describe your most significant achievement in office and a single policy you would like to work on in your next term, if you were reelected.
President Trump endorsed me because I am an America First conservative and a family farmer, not a career politician from the D.C. Swamp. One of my most notable achievements was exposing the attempted vaccine database program that Democrats attempted to sneak past the American people. Unfortunately, 80 Republicans including my opponent Rodney Davis voted for the vaccine database bill, which was titled the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021. I also advocated for family farms by introducing the Define WOTUS Act to limit the Biden Environmental Protection Agency from attempting to seize property from family farms through burdensome water regulations. In my next term, I will fight to secure our border by reinstating President Trump’s immigration policies. My opponent Rodney Davis joined with Adam Kinzinger to push for amnesty for illegal immigrants who were given DACA protection by the Obama Administration. I visited the border with President Trump and witnessed firsthand the crisis created by the Biden Administration’s open border agenda. Drug cartels, human traffickers and gangs like MS-13 have taken control of our border, and their goal is to flood our country with criminals and fentanyl. The most important thing we can do to fix immigration in America is to get President Trump back in the White House so that we can re-secure our border and enforce our immigration laws.
What is the most important issue in Illinois and the United States? How would you address it?
The Biden Energy Crisis threatens every aspect of my district, especially farmers who can’t afford fuel and fertilizer. I warned Biden’s Secretary of Agriculture that a food crisis is coming if this trend continues, and he brazenly told me that farmers should just use less fertilizer. My district can produce clean ethanol, but the Biden Administration wants to replace fertile farmland with Chinese-manufactured solar panels and windmills. President Trump brought us energy independence and a booming economy. I co-sponsored H.R. 859, the Protecting American Energy Jobs Acts to reverse all of President Biden’s executive orders on energy policy, and I support increasing domestic production of oil and ethanol to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. My district misses President Trump and his America First agenda.
Who are your top three campaign contributors?
My campaign is funded by small-dollar contributions I receive from grassroots conservative donors who support President Trump and the Second Amendment. My opponent Rodney Davis only receives 11.2% of his contributions through small-dollar donations, the vast majority of his funds come from D.C. Swamp lobbyists, woke corporations that support Joe Biden, and Joe Biden’s major Super PAC the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters.
Why should people vote for you?
President Trump endorsed me because I am not a career politician, I am a farmer who has been a bold defender of the America First agenda and our Second Amendment rights. My opponent Rodney Davis supports red-flag gun confiscation, which would give the federal government the ability to seize firearms from American citizens. Rodney Davis also joined with Adam Kinzinger to push for amnesty for illegal immigrants who were given DACA protection by Barack Obama. I am proud that I was endorsed by the NRA in 2020, and I am the only member of Congress from Illinois with an A rating from Gun Owners of America. I am also the only member of Congress from Illinois who is a member of the House Freedom Caucus. I have a perfect 100% rating from CPAC, the oldest grassroots conservative organization in the country, while my opponent Rodney Davis has a 59% “F” rating. I am also honored to be endorsed by Senator Ted Cruz, FreedomWorks, Turning Point Action, Family Research Council Action and Illinois Family Action. Americans need bold, conservative fighters in Congress, not weak RINOs who go along with the establishment and work to undermine the America First agenda.
The metro-east is home to Scott Air Force Base and one of the biggest veteran populations in Illinois. How have you supported servicemembers and veterans in Congress, and how would you serve them in the future if you are reelected?
President Trump endorsed me because I have prioritized supporting our veterans as part of my commitment to the America First agenda. Our veterans need access to quality VA hospitals and should have the option to choose whatever medical provider they would like. I am a proud cosponsor of The Veterans Access to Direct Primary Care Act, which would allow our veterans to receive primary care from any provider they chose. I have also proudly cosponsored a bill to designate the Scott Air Force Base as a center of excellence. Furthermore, I have also cosponsored multiple pieces of legislation that would prevent our service members from being fired for refusing to take the COVID vaccine including the Our Veterans Earned It Act. My opponent Rodney Davis voted to allow Joe Biden to discharge members of our military for refusing to take the COVID vaccine, which is strongly opposed by my constituents.
What policies would you pursue to help Illinoisans recover economically from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and deal with inflation?
One reason that President Trump endorsed me is that I oppose the corruption of the D.C. Swamp, which includes their special interest spending bills. The Biden Inflation Crisis stems from corrupt and bloated spending bills that serve D.C. special interests. I voted against Biden’s ridiculous infrastructure bill, which only included a fraction for traditional infrastructure, because I knew the Democrats’ reckless spending spree would cause massive inflation that would destroy the value of the dollar. I was recently rated by the Washington Post as one of the ten most conservative members of Congress because I opposed the Biden-Pelosi-Schumer spending bills, and I am proud to be a member of the House Freedom Caucus, which pushes Congress to cut wasteful spending to get our national debt under control. I also voted against sending an additional $40 billion in funding to Ukraine, but my opponent Rodney Davis voted in favor of sending the $40 billion to Ukraine in the midst of an inflation crisis and border crisis.
Should Congress pass a law on abortion or should the issue be left to the states? If you support a national law, what would you like to see the law do?
I was endorsed by President Trump, the Susan B. Anthony List, Family Research Council Action and Illinois Family Action because of my 100% commitment to the right to life for every person, born and unborn. I believe that once Roe v. Wade is overturned, Congress should pass a federal law to make abortion illegal. Every human has the right to life, and that right comes from God, not government. I introduced the Defending Life on College Campuses Act to prevent federal funds from going to colleges and universities that fund chemical abortion. Tragically, J.B. Pritzker is a radical pro-abortion governor who supports abortion through the ninth month of pregnancy and eliminated parental consent at the request of the abortion industry. I will always March for Life and fight against the radical anti-life agendas of Joe Biden and J.B. Pritzker.
