Please list highlights of your civic involvement: I was incredibly fortunate to be recruited from Decatur Eisenhower High School to play football at Yale University. Ever since overcoming the culture shock of that transition, I knew I wanted to give back to our country in the most meaningful way possible, which led me to U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidates School. The Marine Corps quickly became intertwined with my sense of identity and purpose.
Who are your top three campaign contributors? Steve Reising, Robyn Reising and Jayson Reising
Why are you running? My family has lived in the heart of our district for almost 200 years. And over the past 40 years, the establishment politicians have been failing communities like ours, leading to the loss of good-paying jobs, a struggling economy and population decline. Growing up in Decatur public schools, I was at the epicenter of these challenges.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? The Biden Administration is decimating our economy with its skyrocketing inflation, record energy costs and negative economic growth. Over the past year, Biden-Budzinski inflation cost everyday Americans an extra $5,200. The federal government’s spending of endless trillions of dollars that we don’t have has compounded supply chain problems to fuel the inflation that we’re experiencing.
Why should people vote for you? I don’t just talk about problems, I solve them. After a serious neck injury prevented me from serving my country as a Marine in Afghanistan as I had planned, I found new ways to serve. In Congress, when I say I’m going to fight to bring us back to the American first principles that made us great, you can rest assured that I’m going to get it done no matter what gets thrown at us.
