Illinois state government hiring for dozens of positions in metro-east. 1 pays up to $101K
Those looking for a new job ahead of the holiday season can apply to a variety of open positions with the Illinois state government.
Unemployment held steady in the state in September, according to the latest available data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate remained at 5.3%, the same number from August after four consecutive monthly increases.

In addition, two new labor-related laws went into effect July 1, including the Freelance Worker Protection Act and protections for child social media influencers. Another employment law will take effect Jan. 1, requiring employers with 15 or more employees to include pay scale and benefit information in job postings.
