Man fails at robbing store. So he takes his note to the bank next door, MO cops say
A man in Missouri reused his demand note after his first robbery attempt fell through, police say.
Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, a man went into Schnuck’s grocery store in St. Louis and slipped a note to an employee at the courtesy counter, according to a police incident report.
The note explained that the man was armed and demanded the employee hand over some money, police say. The employee refused.
So the man left the grocery store and went next door to Great Southern Bank where police say he gave the same note to a teller. The teller ultimately gave him an unreported amount of cash before he left the bank and sped off in a silver sedan, the report says.
Officers found the car some time later, but the suspect was nowhere in sight, police say.
The suspect is described as a white man with gray hair in his late 50s to early 60s, police say. He was wearing tan overalls under a red and gray hoodie and is believed to be about 5-foot-8 and between 140 and 150 pounds.
The man is wanted on the charge of first-degree robbery.
