Severe winter weather in metro-east and St. Louis brings early closings, canceled events
With inclement winter weather coming our way, early closings and event cancellations may soon follow.
Here are some early closings announced by local businesses and organizations.
More will be added to the list as information becomes available.

Belleville Christkindlmarkt
The last day of the Belleville Christkindlmarkt is Wednesday due to pending weather.
The annual market was cut short for the safety of the vendors, volunteers and guests, according to the Christkindlmarkt Facebook page.
Scott Credit Union
Scott Credit Union issued an email to customers that area branches may close early Thursday, Dec. 22 and potentially all day Friday, Dec. 23.
The email encourages all members to call the member contact center at 800-888-4728 to make sure they are open.
Scott Credit Union locations will also be closed Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday.
Hiking Through the Holidays
The Hiking Through the Holidays event at Lewis & Clark Community College will not be open Friday, Dec. 23, due to extreme cold.
The cancellation was posted on the Lewis & Clark Community College Facebook page.
Gateway Arch Park Foundation Winterfest
The Gateway Arch Park Foundation announced Tuesday that Winterfest will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Saturday, Dec. 24.
Winterfest will reopen Monday, Dec. 26, and run through Sunday, Jan. 1.
Christmas Wonderland Light Display
The Christmas Wonderland Light Display at Rock Spring Park, 2100 College Ave. in Alton, will be closed Thursday, Dec. 22, and Friday, Dec. 23, due to bitter wind and low temperatures.
A decision whether the Christmas Wonderland will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas night driving tours is pending.
St. Louis Union Station Wheel Park
Due to extreme weather conditions, the attractions at the St. Louis Union Station Wheel Park will close midday Thursday, Dec. 22, and all day Friday, Dec. 23.
Attractions include the St. Louis Wheel, the 18-hole St. Louis Mini Golf and the St. Louis Carousel.
Wheel Park attractions will be open noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.
Lebanon’s Winter Wonderland
Lebanon’s Winter Wonderland at Horner Park, 11113 Widicus Road, Lebanon, will be closed Thursday, Dec. 22 due to extreme weather conditions.
A decision will be made Friday morning as to whether or not the attraction will reopen for Friday, Dec. 23, and Saturday, Dec. 24. lebanonswinterwonderland.org
Garden Glow/Missouri Botanical Garden
The Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd., St. Louis, is canceled for Thursday, Dec. 22, and Friday, Dec. 23.
The Botanical Garden will close at noon Thursday, Dec. 22. missouribotanicalgarden.org
Saint Louis Zoo
The Saint Louis Zoo, 1 Government Drive, St. Louis, is closed Thursday, Dec. 22. Wild Lights is also canceled. stlzoo.org
Shiloh Eagles 545
The Shiloh Eagles, 100 Eagle Drive, Shiloh, will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Driver Services Facilities
All Driver Services facilities will be closed at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22. They will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Madison County Facilities/Courthouses
All Madison County facilities and courthouses will close at noon Thursday due to inclement weather and the safety of the public and employees.
Bond County
Courts and the Office of the Circuit Clerk for Bond County will close at noon Thursday.
Matters noticed for remote proceedings may proceed as scheduled whenever possible at the discretion of the presiding judge.
St. Clair County
County buildings in St. Clair County closed at noon Thursday.
American Legion Post 365
American Legion Post 365 in Collinsville will close at 5 p.m. Thursday due to inclement weather.
Sacred Grounds Café
Sacred Grounds, 223 N. Main St., Edwardsville, closed at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
LongStory Coffee
LongStory Coffee, 732 S. Illinois St., Belleville, will close early Thursday with plans to reopen 7 a.m. Friday unless otherwise posted.
The Quarter Restaurant
The Quarter Restaurant, 126 E. Main St., Belleville, is closed Thursday.
O’Town Food Hall & Tap House
O’Town Food Hall & Tap House, 1214 Central Park Drive, O’Fallon, will close early on Thursday with plans to reopen 11 a.m. Friday.
Santa’s House
Santa’s House in downtown Belleville is closed Thursday and Friday. Hours on Saturday are to be determined.
McDonald’s
McDonald’s locations in Lebanon, Caseyville, Fairview Heights, Shiloh and O’Fallon will close at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Gasthaus
The Gasthaus, 115 W. St. Louis St. Lebanon will close for the evening Thursday.
