Ziebold helps Red Bud clinch playoff spot

Senior quarterback Griffin Ziebold threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third — all in the first half — as Red Bud wrapped up a playoff spot with a 42-7 win over Sparta.

The Musketeers (6-3) will learn their first-round Class 2A playoff opponent Saturday. This is the second straight playoff appearance for Red Bud.

Ziebold, who also rushed for 135 yards, threw touchdown passes of 15 and 42 yards to senior wide receiver Alex Birchler. The Musketeers quarterback now has 24 touchdown passes for the season.

Red Bud running back Seth Bass added 115 yards on the ground, including a 33-yard touchdown run.
