East St. Louis receiver gets scholarship offer from SEC super powers
East St. Louis junior wide receiver Dominic Lovett continues to garner the attention of most of the top college football programs in the nation.
Lovett, who in November helped lead East St. Louis to the Class 6A state championship, recently picked up scholarship offers from national champion LSU and Alabama, another national power, according to 247 Sports.
A 5-10, 175-pound wide receiver, Lovett is the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state and the No. 45 ranked wide receiver in the nation by 247Sports.
Lovett, who caught 73 passes for 1,541 yards and 16 touchdowns in helping to lead East St. Louis to a 14-0 record and ninth state title in school history, had picked up offers from several schools, Oregon, Georgia, Mississippi State and Arkansas in the past six weeks.
Previously, Lovett had offers from Illinois, Missouri, Purdue, Iowa State, Louisville, West Virginia, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan State and Northwestern.
Lovett’s East St. Louis teammate, junior quarterback Tyler Macon, recently gave a verbal commitment to the University of Missouri.
