Lynn Rippelmeyer began her career in aviation as a TWA flight attendant where she became interested in flying. She was captain on the first all-female Boeing 737 crew, the first woman to fly Boeing 747 and the first woman to captain the jumbo jet across the Atlantic ocean. - Carolina Crown at Freeburg — 1-5 p.m. Monday, Freeburg Community High School, 401 S. Monroe, Freeburg. See them rehearse for free. If you want to see Carolina Crown (along with many other drum corps groups) perform that evening, DCI (Drum Corps Interntional) St. Louis is taking place at McKendree University. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://dcitickets.showare.com. Prices range from $10-$40 depending on where you are sitting. The Boat Division will feature a Big 10 format, and the Walking/Shore division will feature a Big 3 format. Hosted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
