Secretary of Defense visits Scott AFB
Secretary of Defense James Mattis visited Scott Air Force Base on Feb. 21.
Col. Leslie Maher, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, and Gen. Darren W. McDew, U.S. Transportation Command commander, greeted Mattis upon his arrival.
Mattis met with USTRANSCOM leaders and held an all-hands call with base personnel during his visit to the base.
USTRANSCOM is a global Combatant Command and the transportation provider for the Department of Defense.
With its global view, USTRANSCOM sets the globe for logistics on behalf of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and integrates and employs mobility forces to rapidly project combat power at the time and place of our country’s choosing.
