Motorcyclist dies in crash on Poplar Street Bridge
A 27-year-old man from Nebraska died when the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a semitrailer on the Poplar Street Bridge on Monday night, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The St. Clair County Coroner’s office confirmed there was a fatality in the crash. The coroner had not yet released the man’s name as of Tuesday morning.
Traffic in the eastbound lanes came to standstill for at least an hour after the crash, which occurred at around 8:30 p.m., according to KMOV. The semitrailer drove away, but it was not immediately clear if the driver was aware the crash had happened, the Post-Dispatch reported.
The fatal crash occurred about 8 pm near the bridge and Route 3 and involved a motorcycle. I-Dot says they have two EB lanes closed, 1 open https://t.co/WrCjd60E1q
