Three St. Louis children die in rollover accident
Three children died in a rollover accident just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday on eastbound Interstate 70, north of downtown St. Louis.
Eleven-year-old Danzel Cosey, 10-year-old Lamont Davis and 3-year-old Eric Williams were not wearing their seat belts when a 23-year-old driver lost control of their Ford Explorer while exiting onto Tucker Boulevard.
The SUV rolled several times, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports.
Another 11-year-old boy in the vehicle and the adult driver, Eric Williams, survived but suffered serious injuries. Police did not determine whether they were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The surviving child was taken to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, and Williams was taken to Saint Louis University Hospital.
All four children and the driver were from St. Louis.
No other vehicles were involved.
