Two taken to hospital after car-motorcycle crash in Belleville

Police were investigating a car-motorcycle crash where South Belt West intersects with State Street in Belleville Thursday night.

The motorcyclist and a passenger in the car were taken to the hospital with “injuries bad enough to go to the hospital,” Lt. Ronald Sprinz of the Belleville Police Department said.

The driver of the car remains on scene. The crash happened at 8:49 p.m. Thursday, and the intersection was still shut down as of 9:45 p.m.

Police on scene released no information, and they continued their investigation Thursday night.

Pictures from the scene show the motorcycle is on its side and the front end of the car is caved in.
