St. Louis Cardinal’s infielder Matt Carpenter will be donating $10,000 to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey for every home run he hits for the rest of the season.

Carpenter announced this in a series of tweets Monday. He and his wife lived in Houston for most of their lives, and Carpenter said it still has a special place in their hearts.

“We are praying hard for the people of Houston,” Carpenter tweeted.

The hurricane brought devastating amounts of rain to some of Texas’s most populated cities, including Houston, Austin and San Antonio. By the time the storm ends, some areas could see more than 50 inches of rain, the New York Times reported.

Houston did not order evacuations before the storm, leaving many residents trapped in flooding homes.

Update: Carpenter tweeted that Adam Wainwright will match the $10,000 for each home run.
