Police arrest person after man shot, killed in Glen Carbon
Police say a 43-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday evening at a home in rural Glen Carbon.
Officers responded to the home in the 100 block of Hillcrest Drive to find the man unresponsive in the backyard, Capt. T. Mike Dixon wrote in a release. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Several other people were at the home when officers arrived around 7:30 p.m., according to Dixon.
Officers arrested one person who is believed to have shot the man, Dixon wrote. That person is being at the Madison County Jail.
Dixon said the identity of the man who died, along with additional information about the case, will be released later this week.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting along with the Glen Carbon and Maryville city police departments
