Men with ‘gold teeth’ rob person walking along Fairview street, police say
Two men robbed a man walking alone at night just after 1 a.m. Thursday and got away with the person’s wallet, according to Fairview Heights police.
The man was walking on St. Clair Avenue near Magdalena Avenue when two men came up from behind him, Fairview Heights police said in a release. They brandished a handgun and took off with the man’s wallet and money inside.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department responded with K9s in an attempt to track down the suspects in a nearby neighborhood, but were unsuccessful.
The victim told officers the black men were in their 20s, with gold teeth and wearing all black — including hats.
One of the men was described as having a short trimmed beard and mustache.
