Student found dead on Washington University campus
A student at Washington University in St. Louis was found dead at a construction site on the campus, but foul play is not indicated, officials said.
The student’s body was found by a construction worker at about 8 a.m. Friday in the construction site, located on the east end of the Danforth Campus. The university police department and St. Louis County Police are investigating, and a cause of death has not been determined.
The student was not identified out of respect to the family, school officials said.
The discovery temporarily halted construction on the site, which is remaking what the university considers the “front door” to its campus with $240 million in landscaping, underground parking and new buildings.
