IHOP has temporarily closed its location on Caryle Avenue in Belleville.
A sign on the door Monday said the restaurant was closed for repairs. A spokeswoman from IHOP’s corporate office said the company would look for more details about the closure.
Customers were greeted by an empty parking lot and the handwritten sign on the door.
“Please be advised our IHOP is temporarily closed for repairs,” the note signed by management said.
Never miss a local story.
Kathy Rainbolt, a longtime IHOP customer, said she was more than disappointed to see when she arrived Monday morning.
Her friend David Schroth had hopped on a bus from St. Louis to meet her there for breakfast.
His trip took about an hour and half by bus, which is why Rainbolt was upset when she found out the restaurant was closed without notice to customers.
