Fire engulfs house in East St. Louis

Crews responded to a house fire in East St. Louis on Thursday afternoon.

Flames were shooting through the roof of the home, which is in the 500 block of Katherine Dunham Place.

The single-story home is across from the Vivian D. Adams Early Childhood Center.

The home appeared to be a total loss. Crews responded with three East St. Louis firetrucks.
