5 juveniles struck by car in St. Louis; 1 in critical condition
Five juveniles walking alongside a road were struck by a vehicle in St. Louis County on Sunday, according to a news release from the police department.
St. Louis County police responded to the intersection of North Hanley Road and Nola Avenue at 2:48 p.m. Sunday and found that five juvenile boys, ages 9 to 13, had been struck by a vehicle, according to the release. The boys had been walking along a grassy berm alongside the roadway.
All five of the boys were transported to a local hospital. Four had minor injuries, but one was seriously injured and was in critical and unstable condition Sunday afternoon, according to the release.
Police believe the 57-year-old woman who struck the boys with her car suffered a medical event while driving, according to the release. She remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation after she was treated by EMS.
