Tractor, barn full of hay destroyed in Southern Illinois fire
A barn, tractor and more than 100 large bales of hay were destroyed in a fire Thursday morning just east of Ina.
Jefferson Rural Firefighters told WJBD Radio that the large wooden barn was collapsing from the fire when they arrived at about 11 a.m. Thursday at the farm, in the 7000 block of Spring Garden Road.
The farm’s owner, Marvin Richardson, told the radio station the 80-by-100-foot wooden barn was engulfed when he first saw it. A tractor and 120 large bales of hay were stored inside the barn, he said.
