Cahokia man sexually abused 79-year-old woman in wheelchair, police say

A Cahokia man was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a 79-year-old woman who uses a wheelchair.

Randy A. Pritchard, 54, of Cahokia, faces four felony counts. He is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one count of aggravated battery and one count of unlawful restraint. The woman is 79 years old; court documents do not specify where the alleged assault took place.

Cahokia police say the suspect on Monday touched the breast of the woman and tried to force her legs apart for his sexual arousal or gratification. Police also say the suspect prevented the woman from using her wheelchair to move away from him.

Pritchard was arrested and held on $100,000 bail. He remained in the St. Clair County Jail as of Friday afternoon.
