Fire breaks out at Marissa auto repair store

Marissa Fire Department was responding to a large structure fire at an auto repair and tire shop Friday night.

Crews responded to the fire at Ozzy's Auto Clinic and Discount Tire at Illinois 13 and Route 4 in Marissa just after 9 p.m. Friday, St. Clair Emergency Management Agency posted on Facebook.

Shortly after, the department called out for mutual aid. Lenzburg, Tilden, St Libory, New Athens, Baldwin, Sparta, Fayetteville, Coulterville and Hecker responded. At about 10:30 p.m., the department asked Freeburg Fire Department to assist as well.

The department requested that police close Illinois 13, so traffic would not be in the way.
